Afro-jazz queen Judith Sephuma and her husband Siphiwe Mhlambi’s R500,000 car was repossessed by the bank last month, because they are financially in the red.
Now their black Pathfinder is on the verge of being auctioned.
The car has already almost gone under the hammer twice in less than a year after they defaulted on payments and it was repossessed, but they rescued it on both occasions.
The celebrity couple are not the only tardy customers.
The repo men are also on the tails of soccer star Dennis Lota and TV newsreader Tshepo Ikaneng for defaulting on monthly payments for their vehicles.
A source close to Sephuma and Mhlambi says the couple went bankrupt because the songbird’s previous album performed lackadaisically on the market and she has not been getting shows from music promoters.
It is also alleged Mhlambi slipped into a financial morass after a lucrative photo-shooting contract he signed with one of the PSL clubs was not renewed.
